Neil S. Kaye, MD is a clinical and forensic psychiatrist with more than 35 years of experience treating patients. He is an IMS Elite Expert, neuropsychiatrist, and pharmacologist who is board-certified in general adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Jefferson Medicine College and has been a special guest lecturer at Widener University School of Law. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the Albany Medical Center Hospital and Syracuse University College of Medicine and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Syracuse University College of Medicine.

Dr. Kaye has been licensed in New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington. He is a member of numerous national organizations, including the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL) for which he has served as a councilor on the executive committee and is a recipient of the Red Apple Award for service. Dr. Kaye currently serves as chair of the government affairs committee and is the founder and past chairman of AAPL’s task force on psychopharmacology and the law. Dr. Kaye specializes in forensic psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, and psychiatric research and has performed over 10,000 psychiatric evaluations. He has experience in criminal, civil, and regulatory law as well as family/domestic issues working with plaintiffs, defendants, and courts. He has delivered over 1,000 lectures and has authored over 80 publications.

Dr. Kaye has been an expert reviewer for the United States Department of Justice Special Investigation Unit and a member of the governor’s advisory committee on mental health, alcohol, and substance abuse.
